Our Story

Established in 1995, the NEGROS ORIENTAL MONTESSORI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (SIMON) is a private co-educational school for children from ages 2 ½ to 18. The program include Junior Casa to Senior Casa (2 ½ to 5 years old), Advanced Casa (5 to 6 years old), Lower to Upper Elementary (6-12 years old), Junior High School-Grades 7-10 (12-18 year old) and Special Education.

The School Founder, Dr. Maria Luz Calumpang- Fuentes is a certified Montessori Teacher from the MARIA MONTESSORI TEACHER’S TRAINING CENTER in San Francisco, California and in a bona fide member of the North America Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA), Association Montessori Internationale (Bergamo, Italy), and the International Montessori Society

It has always been my father, Gabriel Davis Amigo’s lifelong dream to open up a school to promote education. But being too busy with all of his businesses he has never gotten around to it. Finally in 2014, when the opportunity was given to take over the school my dad and I took the chance and never doubted its potential. He entrusted me to run it as the school administrator and head.

We have kept all the schools traditions and philosophy and created great new ones. Our SIMON family has grown and seeing what our products have achieved in life is so fulfilling.

We have Great teachers making a tremendous difference in the lives of our students, guiding them to reach their full potential, academic success and providing emotional and social support. Our teachers attend yearly Montessori workshops to preserve our Montessori method of education.
